Signature is proud to announce that it sponsored the AIS 2008 Athlete of the Year award presented at a gala
function at the AIS in Canberra on 4th Feb '09.

The joint winners were:

Ken Wallace - Flatwater Canoe
Ken won a gold medal in the K1 500-metre and a bronze medal in the K1 1000-metre events at the 2008 Olympic
Games. Prior to his Olympic achievements in August, Ken won a bronze medal in the K1 500-metre event at the
World Cup in Poznan, and placed fourth in the K1 1000-metres at the World Cup in Duisburg.

Heath Francis OAM, Track and Field
Competing in his third Paralympics, Heath won gold medals in the T46 100-metre, 200-metre and 400-metre
events in the 2008 Olympic Games. He broke the world record in the 200-metre and 400-metre events and also
won a bronze medal in the T42–46 4 x 100-metre relay.

The awards were presented by The Hon Jackie Kelly MP - Federal Minister for Sport & Tourism.
